As an artist, a mother, and Christian, I am constantly looking for ways to interject ideas for open-mindedness in my social circle as well as within my own family.  Looking to textiles, utensils and found objects in my practice, I tell stories touched with nostalgia and cross-cultural connections. I aim to provide pieces that keep the viewer questioning their role in society.  I use art as a tool to carry ideas into spaces they typically would not be welcome.  I believe the world we live in today implores empathy in our speech, it asks us to give from our hearts and demands for us to listen.  Through much of my work I pose questions asking the viewer to listen to messages from outside their experience.  These questions often encapsulate societal, political, and moral ideals.  My work empathizes with what it means to be human, and when multiple viewers engage with the work, it is my hope a conversation is started.
